GULFPORT – A man wanted in Sacramento for an alleged assault with a deadly weapon was captured in Gulfport and now awaits his extradition back to California.
An arrest warrant was issued for 20-year-old Markus Marzette and he was found on May 10 after authorities with the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department notified Gulfport police. Sacramento officials believed Marzette was in Mississippi and gave law enforcement agents in Gulfport a possible location.
When Gulfport police arrived at a residence in the 900 block of 42nd Avenue, they found Marzette inside.
Marzette was taken into custody without incident and he was transported to the Harrison County Adult Detention Center where he is being held without bond.
