OCEAN SPRINGS – A 23-year-old man is being held on a $75,000 bond after he allegedly held up a Subway restaurant at gunpoint. K’Darius Akeemy Lee was taken into custody Friday morning after running away from police on foot after the robbery, authorities said.

Lt. John Flowers of the Ocean Springs Police Department said an employee of the Subway, located in the 3000 block of Bienville Blvd. notified police around 7:29 a.m. saying the restaurant had been robbed.

Flowers said the employee gave a description of the man who came into the business alone.

“The caller stated a black male wearing a gray and black jacket with a hood pulled over his head and blue jean shorts robbed the restaurant at gunpoint,” said Flowers. “The…employee was not injured, but the suspect fled the scene with an undetermined amount of cash.”

Flowers said the suspect was reportedly driving a gold-colored minivan and was last seen traveling eastbound on Bienville Blvd.

Responding officers established a perimeter in the Parktown Subdivision area and after spotting the suspect, a brief foot pursuit ensued.

Lee was taken into custody without incident.

Flowers said Lee, who lives in the 100 block of Vicksburg Drive in Ocean Springs, was charged with one count of armed robbery and he was transported to the city jail.

The robbery remains under investigation.
