STARKVILLE, Miss. (AP) – Authorities say a Mississippi State University student died in an attempted robbery.

Oktibbeha County Coroner Michael Hunt tells local news outlets 21-year-old Joseph Tillman, a senior marketing major, was found dead in Starkville’s Cotton District early Sunday morning.

Starkville police say four suspects have been arrested following a traffic stop Sunday that led to the discovery of weapons.

Police say 20-year-old Jaylen M. Barker, of Columbus, has been charged with the murder of Tillman. His bond was set at $1 million.

Four others have been charged with accessory to murder. Their bonds are set at $500,000 each.

Online jail records do not list an attorney for Barker.
