Local teen activist recognized

2bowncountymeetignsmtg9-7-16-5-2Local activist Maisie Brown, 14, was recognized for her community efforts in the Black Lives Matter Movement by Ward 4 Jackson City Councilman De’Keither Stamps during the Sept. 6 city council meeting. Brown shared a tribute speech she recently shared at Tougaloo College regarding Emmett Till. She also shared a personal poem on Black Lives Matter. Brown is shown with her dad, Bobby D.
