PASCAGOULA, Mississippi (AP) — A former Ocean Springs investment broker will spend nearly six years in federal prison for mail fraud.
WLOX-TV reports Eduardo Diaz was indicted in October, accused of stealing more than $1 million from clients over a 3 1/2 year period. He pleaded guilty in March.
After hearing from some victims of Diaz’s scheme Wednesday, Judge Louis Guirola sentenced Diaz to 70 months in prison, followed by three years of supervised release.
Diaz must also pay a $15,000 fine and pay $641,435.88 in restitution, with interest.
