MONROE, La. (AP) – Jury selection continues Tuesday in the trial of a man accused of illegally using the debit card of a woman stabbed to death in northeast Louisiana.

A judge ruled Monday that prosecutors must limit discussion of Meing-Chien Hsiao’s death. Quinton Tellis is charged with illegally using her debit card after she died, as well as possessing marijuana.

Unlike in Mississippi, where Tellis faces capital murder charges in the death of teenager Jessica Chambers, he’s not charged with Hsiao’s death.

A prosecutor says the trial will recess from noon Tuesday until Thursday morning.

If convicted, Tellis could face a life sentence because of previous felony convictions. He’s expected to face trial in Chambers’ death in Mississippi later. Chambers was found on fire on a rural road in Courtland in December 2014, next to her car, which was also burning. She died hours later at a hospital.
