Detective Nick Sonnier tells The Sun Herald David Anthony Scott was combative and resisting officer involvement when police responded to a domestic incident early Monday. Sonnier says Scott is accused of head-butting an officer who was trying to arrest him on a misdemeanor charge of disturbing the peace.

GULFPORT, Miss. (AP) – A Mississippi man who held up banks in Pascagoula and Hurst, Texas, in July will spend extra time in prison for robbing the banks while on probation for three other bank heists. The Sun Herald reports 46-year-old Robert Scott Antrim, of Biloxi, received an additional two years in prison at a hearing to revoke his probation Tuesday.

JACKSON, Miss. (AP) – Mississippi Gov. Phil Bryant says he is supporting Donald Trump for president. The second-term Republican governor had endorsed Texas Sen. Ted Cruz before Mississippi’s primary in March. But soon after Cruz ended his campaign Tuesday, Bryant said he’s backing the New York businessman.
