GULFPORT, Miss. (AP) — A Harrison County grand jury has found no criminal conduct was involved in the deaths of two Harrison County jail inmates.

Filmore N. Allen, 60, died Nov. 12, 2014. He was being held on an aggravated domestic assault charge.

Adam Shane Mitchell, 30, died June 10, 2014. He was being held on misdemeanor charges.

The grand jury reports were filed with the final report of the March grand jury in Gulfport after its six-month term. The District Attorney’s Office released partial reports on the deaths Monday.

Sheriff Melvin Brisolara said both inmates had been taken to a hospital.

Brisolara tells The Sun Herald Mitchell died of an overdose from drugs he ingested before his arrest and Allen hanged himself.
