Haley Barbour’s Hurricane Katrina book tour coming to Mississippi Coast

JACKSON (AP) — Former Gov. Haley Barbour will tour Mississippi to promote his new book, “America’s Great Storm: Leading Through Hurricane Katrina.”

Republican Barbour co-wrote the book with Jere Nash, a Jackson-based Democratic political consultant.

Katrina struck on Aug. 29, 2005, leaving a wide swath of destruction across Mississippi and Louisiana.

Barbour’s promotional tour begins Saturday during the Mississippi Book Festival at the state Capitol in Jackson.

His scheduled appearances include:
