MDCC Health Science to graduate May 7

Dr. Wade Dowell will address Mississippi Delta Community College’s health science majors at their commencement ceremony, scheduled for Thurs., May 7 at 10 a.m. at the J.T. Hall Coliseum in Moorhead, Miss. The graduation and pinning ceremony honors the college’s dental hygiene, radiologic technology and associate degree nursing graduates.

A 1982 graduate of The University of Mississippi School of Medicine, Dr. Dowell has served as a family physician in Indianola, Miss. since 1985. He served two terms as president of the Delta Medical Society, one term as president of the Mississippi Academy of Family Physicians, and has served as a team physician for Mississippi Delta Community College, Indianola Academy, and the University of Mississippi. He is married to Angela (Roberts) of Moorhead, Miss. and the couple has four children.

Mississippi Delta Community College is a comprehensive community college that offers a wide variety of academic, career, and technical courses in day, evening, and on-line classes. MDCC also offers workforce training, ABE/GED classes, and continuing education courses for local citizens. The Health Science division is comprised of Associate Degree Nursing, Dental Hygiene Technology, Medical Laboratory Technology, Radiologic Technology, Practical Nursing, Emergency Medical Technician, Health Care Assistant, and Phlebotomy.
