HATTIESBURG, Miss. (AP) – Chip Armelin scored 21 points, including the go-ahead 3-pointer, to lift Southern Miss to a 70-66 win over Texas-San Antonio last night. Matt Bingaya contributed 17 points while dishing out a career-high 10 assists and Shadell Millinghaus sank four 3-pointers as Southern Miss shot 46.4 percent from the floor.

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) – Tiffany Mitchell scored 16 points to lead South Carolina to a 69-50 victory over Mississippi State and clinch a share of its second straight Southeastern Conference championship last night. Victoria Vivians and LaKaris Salter had 14 points each to lead Mississippi State.

STARKVILLE, Miss. (AP) – Mississippi State has announced a contract extension for coach Dan Mullen that will pay him more than $4 million per season for the next four years. The school announced the extension last night. The four-year contract is the longest allowed by state law.

MOBILE, Ala. (AP) – Justin Roberson scored 18 points and Majok Deng added a double-double to lead Louisiana-Monroe in a 75-57 victory over South Alabama last night. Louisiana-Monroe remains tied with Georgia Southern for first place in the Sun Belt Conference.
