HATTIESBURG, Mississippi (AP) — A federal judge has ordered that a University of Southern Mississippi student under investigation for allegations of child pornography be held without bond pending trial.

U.S. Magistrate Judge Mike T. Parker wrote in his detention order Monday that 24-year-old Miles Justin McNairy was a risk to others and the community.

The Hattiesburg American reports McNairy was arrested by the FBI on Oct. 22.

Parker’s detention order notes evidence of an alleged 160 videos on McNairy’s computer depicting persons as young as 3 years, the alleged admission by McNairy that he had sexual contact with minor relatives and the overall nature of the offense as reasons why he would likely be a risk to others and the community.

It was unclear whether McNairy has an attorney.
