MVSU moving home games to Greenville

ITTA BENA – Mississippi Valley State will play the remainder of its home baseball games some 45

miles away at Greenville’s Legion Field due to damage to the MVSU home field.

Athletic director Ashley Robinson says unsafe playing conditions at Valley’s field in Itta Bena prompted the decision.

Robinson says playing field is not suitable or safe enough to have baseball players risking a possible injury.

Robinson says the ball field will be fixed up.

The Delta Devils have four three-game conference series left on its slate and wiill also host Arkansas-Pine Bluff (April 16) and Blue Mountain College (April 2).

So far this season, MVSU has hosted Prairie View A&M, South Dakota State and Delta State at Legion Field.

Legion Field is located at 1040 South Raceway Road, Greenville, MS 38703.

Valley is 3-21 on the season and 1-5 in SWAC.
