PASCAGOULA – Authorities in Pascagoula issued a “Be On The Lookout” (BOLO) for a local man Tuesday night calling his disappearance ‘suspicious.”

Lee Alexander McGill

Lt. James Massey said 50-year-old Lee Alexander McGill left for work on Wednesday, Jan. 2 at 7 a.m., and hasn’t been seen or heard from since. Massey said he could not release the specifics of the case, but police believe foul play may be involved.

Massey said McGill is a self-employed carpenter and left his home, in the 2000 block of 13th Street, in his 2007 Silver Dodge Caravan.

“He was heading to an unknown job site in Vancleave, Mississippi,” Massey said. “He met with a friend and borrowed a hammer drill, saws all and a tape measure to assist him on his job. We don’t [even] know if he made it to work.”

Massey said calls to McGill’s cell phone go straight to voice mail.

Authorities have also traced financial records and determined that McGill had in his possession a Wal-Mart Gift Card which was used on Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013.

Massey said they have yet to determine if McGill actually made those purchases.

Family members said McGill has no known problems with drug abuse and just recently learned he has a daughter.

“An adult daughter in Mobile, Alabama from his first marriage,” Massey said. “And he was never told about the [daughter] until last month. “His family said he had been depressed about his job situation, but things were turning around and he appeared to be excited about this new relationship. He and his wife pawned a TV to get up enough money to visit her.”

Massey said no one in McGill’s immediate family or his new family has heard from him.

“In talking with his family including his brother, Mr. McGill would not go far from his wife,” Massey said. “And his brother was concerned enough to say that if [McGill] was without her, then something was up and we needed to check into it.”

McGill and his current wife have been married 17 years.

Massey said McGill reportedly has no known source of income other than a blood plasma account where he can donate blood twice a month, and the tools he borrowed from his friend have not been pawned.

McGill is described as a white male, standing 5 feet 9 inches tall, weighing 200 pounds with a medium build. He has grey hair and green eyes. He was last seen in a 2007 Silver Dodge Caravan with the license plate number: XFF7690.

Anyone who has seen Lee Alexander McGill or his vehicle should contact the Pascagoula Police Department at: 228-762-2211.
