PASCAGOULA – A 25-year-old man is in police custody after he allegedly stole a woman’s car with her 3-year-old child inside.

25-year-old Bradly Scott Hilsabeck (pictured) has been charged with carjacking a woman's car with her toddler inside. The toddler was not injured.

Bradly Scott Hilsabeck is being held by request of the Mississippi Department of Corrections (MDOC) following an incident that occurred about 6:46 p.m., Sunday.

Lt. James Massey, of the Pascagoula Police Department, said a woman was standing at her vehicle in the Walgreen’s Parking lot in the 3800 block of Market Street when Hilsabeck reportedly pushed her away and took off in her vehicle.

“About 40 minutes later,” Massey said, “…officers spotted the vehicle heading north on Telephone Road. Officers tried to stop the car and a pursuit began which ended at Jackson Street in Moss Point.”

Massey said Hilsabeck was taken into custody, but the child was not in the car.

“The suspect told police where the child was located…at Shingle Road and Jim Taylor Road,” Massey said.

The child was found still seated in the car seat by Pascagoula Police Officer Stevie Loris and Donnie Moore of the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department.

Hilsabeck was charged with carjacking and kidnapping. He is being held, however, on a probation violation with MDOC.
