‘Bring It On’ actress and Blaque singer Natina Reed dead at 32

Natina Reed was reportedly killed Friday in Georgia while crossing the street. Reed was 32.

ATLANTA, Ga. – Two days before her birthday, Natina Reed, a member of the 90s R&B group Blaque and co-star of the hit cheerleading movie Bring It On, was struck and killed by a car in Georgia on Friday.

Reed was 32.

According to a statement released by the Gwinnett Police Department, the driver of the vehicle that hit Reed called 911 at 10:30 p.m. on Friday. Reed was taken to Gwinnett Medical Center and pronounced dead at 10:59 p.m.

“Preliminary information indicates that Reed was in the roadway on Lawrenceville Highway near Hamilton Road when struck,” the statement said, which adds that the driver “was determined to be not at fault and there are no charges pending.”

Reed is survived by her 10-year-old son, Tren Brown, whose father is the rapper Kurupt.

Fellow Blacque members Brandi Williams and Shamari Fears-

DeVoe issued a joint statement on Saturday. “We are devastated by the loss of our group member, sister and friend,” read the statement. “She will forever be missed and her global influence eternally felt.”

Blaque released its self-titled debut in 1999 and scored top 10 hits with the songs “808” and “Bring It All to Me.” Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes of TLC was said to have discovered the group. Fears-DeVoe and Williams also appeared in Bring It On alongside Reed as cheerleaders for the Clovers.  

“My world as I know it has forever changed,” DeVoe tweeted on Saturday. “Until we meet again, may you find comfort in the arms of an angel.”

Added Williams on Twitter, “Last night the world was changed forever, life will never be the same….she was my sister.”

Saturday, Reed's Bring It On co-star Gabrielle Union tweeted “#RIP #Sad #BringItOn.”
