JACKSON – A former Tunica County probation officer has been arrested and charged with embezzlement. Patricia Nicole Brown, 40, of Hernando was arrested in a joint operation between investigators of the Attorney General’s Public Integrity Division and the Mississippi Department of Corrections Investigations Division.

Brown was arrested based on a warrant signed by 11th Judicial District Circuit Judge Charles Webster charging her with three counts of embezzlement.

Brown is alleged to have, while employed by MDOC as a probation officer, embezzled “probation offender fees.” Brown is accused of taking fees, to which she was not due, and using them for her own personal expense.

Brown has since resigned from her job as a probation officer.

As a law enforcement officer, Brown was due a probable cause hearing which she and her attorney waived.
