STARKVILLE – A burglary suspect got more than he bargained for after falling through a ceiling and getting lodged in a wall during an alleged break-in.

On July 13 at about 4:30 a.m., the Starkville Police Department received a call of a man trapped inside the wall of the new Sprint Mart at Hwy. 12 and New Light Rd.

When police arrived, employees of Sprint Mart told them that there was a man in the walls screaming for help. After almost 30 minutes, the police officers, along with the help of Starkville Fire Department, were able to free the man from the wall.

In an attempt to burglarize the Sprint Mart, the man climbed on top of the Sprint Mart building, accidentally fell through the roof and got lodged between the walls.

James Rovenstine, 23, of the 1400 block of Pisgah Road in Weir, has been charged with burglary of a commercial building and is currently being held at the Oktibbeha County Jail.

Rovenstine was not injured.
