11 individuals indicted on federal drug charges face trial this month

HATTIESBURG – Eleven individuals indicted in April on federal drug charges are all scheduled for trial this month. Ten of the defendants arrested on April 4 were taken into custody after a multi-agency team executed search warrants of their residences yielding approximately seven grams of crack cocaine, four handguns, one assault-type rifle, one 2003 Black Cadillac Escalade, and over $7,000 in U.S. currency.

Tony Ervin, also known as “Ti“, 36, of Kokomo, was charged with possession with intent to distribute cocaine hydrochloride and possession with intent to distribute more than 28 grams of crack cocaine.

If convicted, Ervin faces a maximum sentence of 80 years in prison and a $5 million fine.

Other arrests included:

Alfredric Antwain James, 27, of Columbia, charged with possession with intent to distribute more than 28 grams of crack cocaine.

Stacey Renee Dixon, 32, of Brookhaven, charged with possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine.

Gary Terrell Lewis, also known as Packer, 31, of McComb, was charged with possession with intent to distribute more than 280 grams of crack cocaine and possession with intent to distribute marijuana.

Samuel Cardell Reed, 26, of McComb, was charged with possession with intent to distribute more than 280 grams of crack cocaine and possession with intent to distribute marijuana.

Detroit Lee Rogers, 23, of Magnolia, was charged with possession with intent to distribute more than 280 grams of crack cocaine and possession with intent to distribute marijuana.

Jacqueline Wells, 51, of McComb, was charged with possession with intent to distribute more than 280 grams of crack cocaine and possession with intent to distribute marijuana.

Clayton Wells, 55, of Summit, was charged with possession with intent to distribute more than 280 grams of crack cocaine and possession with intent to distribute marijuana.

Each of these suspects face up to but not limited to 60 years in jail and millions of dollars in fines.

Terris Russell Jefferson, 31, of Kokomo, was charged with one count of possession with intent to distribute marijuana and possession with intent to distribute cocaine hydrochloride. Jefferson has pleaded guilty to those charges.

Tighe Jarod Lee, 32, of Columbia, was charged with possession with intent to distribute more than 28 grams of crack cocaine. Lee also pleaded guilty to his charges.

Both Jefferson and Lee will be sentenced on Sept. 6.

The tenth individual, Fredrick Charles McCalup 31, of Brookhaven, remains at large. McCalup is charged with three counts of possession with intent to distribute more than 28 grams of crack cocaine.
