FOREST – The death of a missing 86-year-old woman has gone from a homicide to an ‘unusual death’ Scott County authorities said. Nadine Noel was first reported missing on Friday morning, June 8. When deputies went to her home in the 8200 block of Old Hillsboro Road, north of Forest, to search for her, they found Noel’s body inside.

Noel’s death was initially ruled a homicide partly because her vehicle, a 1985 Chevy pickup truck was found abandoned near the intersection of Line Drive and West Banks Street in Forest.

Upon further investigation, authorities said Noel’s body showed no signs of physical trauma and deemed it instead as ’unusual.’

Neighbors described Noel as an “active and independent” woman who loved being outside and was busy in veteran’s activities and civic organizations.
