JACKSON – A Florence man was sentenced to 10 years in jail – five to serve – after numerous pornographic images of children were found on his home computer. Forty-nine-year old Wallace Weeks pleaded guilty to eight counts of child exploitation and he was sentenced by Judge William Chapman in Rankin County Circuit Court.

Weeks’ case was investigated by the attorney general’s office.

“Our forensics analysis and investigation uncovered…pornographic images of children on the defendant’s home computer and other devices,” said Attorney General Jim Hood.

Weeks was arrested in November 2010 by investigators with the Attorney General’s Cyber Crime Unit Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, with assistance from the Richland Police Department.

Weeks was sentenced to 10 years with five years to serve, five years suspended, five years post release supervision. He must pay $1,000 to the Attorney General’s crime victim’s compensation fund and he must also register as a sex offender.
