LEE COUNTY – WTVA is reporting that a 15-year veteran with the Lee County School District has been arrested and charged with felony embezzlement.

State authorities arrested and charged 50-year-old Randy Thweatt, of Saltillo, on Tuesday, for allegedly taking an air conditioner unit and having school district employees install it at a mobile home he owned in Starkville.

Authorities said Thweatt is also accused of transferring the title of a district owned truck to himself more than two months ago.

Lee County Superintendent Jimmy Weeks said the district is aware of the charges and has placed Thweatt on administrative leave pending the investigation.
