Body described as tattooed white male

Bolivar County officials have called off the search for a body found floating in the Mississippi River earlier this month. WABG reported that on March 31, a 22-ton tow boat was passing through the area when onboard personnel spotted the body of a white male, with visible tattoos, floating in the river. Because the water was too shallow for the tow boat to enter, they were unable to retrieve the body.

Officials from Bolivar and Coahoma County were called and emergency units responded to the scene. Rescuers were unable to find the body after searching for two days.

Authorities have not said if they will eventually resume the search.

Handy told highway patrolmen that Price was walking in the middle of the highway when she hit him in her 2008 Hyundai.
